ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I'm Nikki Harachi. I am a Huntsville,Al native graduate of JOJ High School and UAB. I began my quest in Epoxy Dec,14 2019, While a full time full service female contractor, specializing in paint. I often took jobs for less to compete with other's in a male dominated field, however, I used my gender as a positive by doing creative faux touches that most males aren't even asked to consider such as faux finishing cabinets to create an "old world," "antique," look. If, clients were on a tight budget but wanted to update their kitchens. I would get clients to choose me for my creative design ability to "use what you got." My motto was, "I can make it, "Purdy." Thus, my company's former name was, "Purdy Girl Paint Remodel & Cleaning." I have been using paint to cover up meager means, most of my life. I was an artist yet, I didn't know it. My fundest memory was drawing stick figures up  my grandmother's 15 flights of stairs w/ crayon and happily going to get her for her to be so proud of my master piece. Needless to say I learned to do commissioned work only from that day forth. Another memory was High School Japanese. Even as an A- B student I could not bring my attention from creating full blown architect sketch's for my high school friends' future homes. This was un-paid but, commissioned work. Everyone wanted me to draw there dream house. My Japanese Sensei noticed my work and commissioned me to paint the hall mural for my grade. So how did I get to epoxy? My client had ugly Countertops w/ no budget. I needed to show my work my paint, cabinets and floor tile.  but, those unsightly Countertops would not make nice photos so,  a suggestion, a go-ahead, my artistic abilities, a couple of YOUTUBE tutorials and $150 for labor and materials later. I am an artist that found my niche. I am currently going into my second year as a self taught Epoxy artist. My artistry combined with my 10yr+ skills in construction and carpentry gives me an advantage. I can design it, build, it, paint it, epoxy it, and, install it. What is IT? Whatever you can imagine.
